I’m Emily Thompson

Biography

Emily performs the clinic’s cataract and anterior segment surgery and sees her own patients through assessment, theatre and follow-up. She was insistent, when the day-case theatre was planned, that the same face should appear at every stage of the pathway, and the lists are still built that way.

Her assessment clinics run long by design. The lens conversation is the part patients most often want to revisit, and she would rather have it once, slowly.

Education & Experience

Emily completed her ophthalmology training in a regional teaching center and a fellowship in anterior segment surgery. She has worked in both public and independent settings and has a particular interest in surgical outcomes for eyes with previous refractive treatment, where biometry is less straightforward.

She supervises the clinic’s surgical audit and presents its results to the whole team twice a year, including the parts nobody enjoys.
