I’m Michael Chang

Biography

Michael runs the pediatric clinics and the diabetic screening service. He has an unusual tolerance for a room in which nobody is sitting still, which is why the Saturday morning children’s list is his.

He is also the person who talks people through their retinal photographs, and he does it on the screen, in front of them, rather than from a report.

Education & Experience

Michael qualified in optometry and holds higher certificates in pediatric eye care and in medical retina. He worked in a hospital-based diabetic screening program before joining Optha, and brought its recall discipline with him.

He liaises with local GP practices on screening intervals, which is the unglamorous work that keeps a screening service from quietly losing people.
