I’m Rachel Lee

Biography

Rachel joined Optha in 2018 and runs the clinic’s dry eye service alongside a general list. Most of her week is comprehensive examinations and contact lens work, with a dedicated dry eye session on Thursdays.

She is the clinician most patients meet first, and she has a habit of drawing what she is describing on the back of a leaflet rather than leaving people to picture it. Colleagues have stopped trying to break her of it.

Education & Experience

Rachel trained in optometry before completing higher qualifications in contact lens practice and in the management of ocular surface disease. She spent six years in hospital eye services before moving into practice, and still teaches on the contact lens module of a regional training scheme.

Outside clinic she sits on the practice’s equipment group, which is why the dry eye room has more instruments in it than the floor plan originally allowed for.
